Get Involved at Lakeside!

Family engagement plays a critical role in a child’s educational success. At Lakeside, we welcome parents to join our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) or assist as a "Helping Hand." Lakeside Charter Academy is committed to providing the best educational experience for our K-8 students, teachers and staff. When parents partner with our public academy, everyone wins.

Lakeside staff is very approachable and welcomes families to ask questions, give feedback, volunteer, and more. Our PTO is a great way to get involved and help our teachers with tasks that benefit students and the school overall. It's a true partnership.

Our Helping Hands program is an initiative where teachers request help copying, cutting or stapling their curriculum materials to support their days. For this to happen, we need a crew of volunteers able to go to the school on a designated day during the week (must have a background check).

How You Can Help This Fall

Parents help in many areas, but this fall, our main focuses are:

• Improving the outdoor area with a “Beautification Day.”

• Leading a fundraiser.

• Assisting our teachers with the Helping Hands Box.

• Providing food for teachers during Teacher Workday.

• Following and checking our social media to help us spread the word about all the great things happening at Lakeside!

• Looking out for volunteer opportunities via Lakeside’s weekly school-wide newsletter, asking your child’s teacher for classroom needs, and signing up as a PTO volunteer!

We are a K-8, tuition-free public charter school in Cornelius, North Carolina. Our teachers and staff work incredibly hard to help our students thrive, and we wouldn’t be where we are without our parents’ support.
