Homework Strategies for Students & Families

Lakeside Charter Academy (Lakeside) works hard to ensure that our students achieve long-term academic success. Our teachers strive to build each student's confidence and encourage them to reach their full potential. We know a little goes a long way when it comes to homework. If any of our students don't understand a homework assignment, our teachers step in to uncover the specific challenge and work with families to find a solution. We know that it takes a community to meet the needs of every student, and we are committed to working with our families to meet those needs.

At Lakeside, we set up comfortable, homework-friendly areas with limited distractions for students who stay after school hours. We offer a light snack and accessibility for students with additional questions. We don't want our students to feel rushed or like they made a mistake by not completing their homework at home, so we give them all the time they need. We also don't want to overwhelm students with the volume of work, so we schedule a regular study time every day--even if it's just to review notes and vocabulary words or read for 20 minutes. These small chunks of time help our students focus on academics and feel set up for success.

We also encourage our parents to keep students on a schedule to build a study routine. It's beneficial for families to find a time that works to sit down and complete homework. We want our students to thrive and encourage parents to allow students to try all assignments without help first so that they can learn from their mistakes. We find value in giving suggestions, guidance and direction without the answers. We want students to learn problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Homework is essential for students because it allows them to practice what they learn in class and helps develop study skills. Keeping a calm, positive and nurturing environment helps. Other strategies to help our Lakeside students grow include praising good work along the way, which boosts confidence and reminding students that improvement comes with time and practice. Not everything is learned on the first try.

Helping students with homework is essential to building good learning habits. As a tuition-free public charter school, Lakeside wants all students to thrive. Our curriculum is fun yet challenging, and we are dedicated to supporting our families with our academic offerings. We are enrolling for 2023-2024! If you are still looking for a school home, consider scheduling a private tour with us.

Encourage students to prioritize their homework tasks based on deadlines and importance. Break down larger assignments into smaller, someone write my assignment tasks and create a schedule to tackle them systematically.

I'm glad to find this post. Since like many students I really dislike doing homework. Which usually takes up all my free time. I even found https://www.nursingpaper.com/examples/pathophysiology/ that helped me with my medical school assignments. My essays turned out to be the best.
